Baccio Pontelli and Gioannino de Dolci are the architects behind the breathtaking Sistine Chapel. The construction took 10 years and it opened August 15, 1483. Found in the Apostolic Palace, the Sistine Chapel is one of the most popular chapels in Vatican City.



Between 1508 and 1512, Michelangelo 12,000 sq ft of the chapel's ceiling. But Sandro Botticelli, Pietro Perugino and Pinturicchio, among many others also contributed their skill in the decoration of the Sistine Chapel.
